Abstract


This research was conducted using the Research and Development approach, with the aim of 1) developing teaching material products form of animated videos for learning local content, 2) knowing the level of validity and practicality of the teaching material products being developed. This research was developed using the Thiagarajan’s model with a 4D stage (Define, Design, Development, Dessiminate). This research was conducted at SDI Mattirowalie in the Odd Semester of the 2020/2021 school year. Subjects of this research are grade IV students and local content subject teacher. Data collection used interview guidelines, needs identification questionnaires, validation questionnaires, and trial questionnaires. Data analysis method consisted of qualitative descriptive analysis and descriptive static analysis. The conclusion from the results of this study, needs analysis of teaching materials is in the required category; the animated video teaching materials developed using Kinemaster Premium are supported by the use of Photoshop, CorelDraw and Adobeaudition with a duration of 3-4 minutes; material about local culture of traditional games and character education for the Bugis tribe, supported by audio, video and text media; the teaching materials developed are valid and practical.
